Black Truffle Howling Hound Cheddar Waxed Round - Organic 8x
SKU: DA14374C

Bold and rich, this deeply flavour cheddar’s character comes from real black truffles for a truly special experience. Rich, indulgent and luxurious, this cheddar is overflowing with the rich and moreish flavours you would expect of delicious truffles. Vegetarian, pasteurised and organic.

This showstopping cheddar is a true gourmet product and is made with the revered ingredient of European Black Truffles, authentically hunted using a truffle hunter and hound. This truffle cheddar truckle will delight your taste buds with the rich and moreish flavours you would expect of delicious fresh truffles. If you’re unfamiliar with the taste of truffles, it has an earthy, nutty and aromatic flavour, perfectly balanced with the creaminess of our vintage organic cheese.

The wonderful umami and aroma of the truffle with the smooth creaminess of Godminster's distinctive Vintage Bruton Beauty cheddar combine to create a truly memorable cheese that will be sought after by foodies and chefs alike.  An elegant addition to any cheeseboard, Godminster’s Howling Hound Black Truffle cheddar is perfect to make a special dinner unforgettable.

Truffle cheddar can be enjoyed as it is, melted over some of your favourite meals or added to a cheese board to bring even more taste to the party. In terms of pairings, truffle cheddar can be enjoyed with sparkling wine and more simple sides such as plain crackers or bread so that you can enjoy the aromatic taste of the truffle cheddar itself.

The Howling Hound Black Truffle cheddar is enrobed in Godminster's stunning black wax to protect it and give it a longer shelf life. This special food-grade wax is a by-product of refining petroleum and would otherwise go to waste!

In order to enjoy your Godminster organic cheddar cheese at its best, allow it to come up to room temperature an hour before serving to bring out all the lovely flavours. Cut into your truckle in Godminster style by chopping off the top and tucking in. Carefully score around the top and lift the lid to enjoy the delicious cheddar inside. If there’s any left afterwards then replace the wax as best you can, wrap it in cling film (or cheese paper if available) and refrigerate.

Godminster

Deep in the heart of Wessex, where landscape and legend intertwine, and character and curiosity are around every corner, lies Godminster. The spirit of Godminster can be found near the town of Bruton, Somerset, deep in the ancient land of Wessex. It’s home to lush rolling pastures and ancient woodlands filled with stories of myth and magic.

Godminster’s mission is to be at the heart of the cheeseboard of life. Why? Because a cheeseboard is a centrepiece that brings people together around the table, and it’s got something for everyone to enjoy, just the way they like it. Every truckle tells a tale – of myth and mystery, taste and tradition – made hand in hand with the land.

“Nature repays those who treat her kindly” is Godminster’s motto and it’s from nature’s finest ingredients that they take all their inspiration. As guardians of their little patch of Somerset, Godminster know that organic farming is the most effective way to create a self-sustaining environment where nature can regenerate and flourish.

Organic cheese is farmed regeneratively – you might have heard this term being used to talk about sustainable, eco-friendly farming that works with nature not against it. As an organic dairy herd, Godminster farm is smaller and the herd is run less intensively because they give their cows more pasture and therefore produce less milk. Godminster believe a healthy, happy herd produces a healthy, happy planet. Because they farm organically and protect the flora and faun
