The Oatmeal of Alford's Oat Flour is an excellent alternative to wheat flour in recipes that don't rely on gluten for structure, and that will benefit from a moist texture. Try it in muffins, cookies, pancakes and breads.
This Scottish oat flour works well as a thickening agent - it can be added to smoothies, soups and stews with the bonus of an additional boost of fibre.
The Oatmeal of Alford
The Oatmeal of Alford grow their oats in the sun-drenched fields of Aberdeenshire. Once harvested, the oats are then kiln-dried and graded at the farm before being transported to Montgarrie Mill, where they are milled into the oat products we’re familiar with.
The bi-products of the milling process, chaff and husks, are compressed into pellets which are used as feed for their livestock.
