Citrus fruit with dark pigments is unusual and the blood oranges in this marmalade come from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The local growers claim Etna citrus is the best in the world.
Thursday Cottage's delicious preserves are made from specially selected whole fruit and cooked in open pans - this small batch artisanal approach is the secret to making all of their products and their extensive marmalade range is no exception.
Thursday Cottage
Thursday Cottage produce a range of handmade jams, marmalades and curds from their base at Trewlands Farm in Tiptree in the Essex countryside. The ingredients, the open pan cooking and the distinctive taste and character of Thursday Cottage products has changed little from the time when the company was based in the West Country, at Thursday Cottage itself, over fifty years ago. All of Thursday Cottage’s products are made in small batches and they fill the jars by hand when possible, in order to get more whole fruit in the product, giving a more hearty and fruity taste. The hard work and effort consistently put in by their small team has been reflected in recent years by the multiple Great Taste Awards given to Thursday Cottage products.
