Rapscallion Cranachan Soda is limited to production once yearly, Cranachan Soda drops around September. It's raspberry season in Scotland and Rapscallion select their raspberries by ripeness, plumpest and juiciest. Scottish oats are then toasted and folded into the raspberry liquid and a little fresh zesty lemon and a tiny hint of star anise. Finally, ice-cold Scottish freshwater is added.
Rapscallion Soda
After well over a decade spent in winemaking, bartending and brewing, founder Gregor realised that most brands were more interested in a long shelf life over flavour and health and most drinks were over processed and the use of preservatives seemed to be a necessary evil. Rapscallion got to work to create something different. Initially from Gregor’s kitchen but now from their production facility in Glasgow, Rapscallion extract raw fruit, mixed it with water, citrus and spices and with the magic of carbonation, elevate these raw ingredients beyond the sum of their parts. Rapscallion Sodas are soft drinks with attitude. Engineered by hand in small batches, precise timing and technique is used to draw out every nuance of flavour and aroma from the fruit. Fruit arrives on a Monday and fresh cans fly out on a Wednesday. Organic cane sugar binds Rapscallion Sodas, with a tickle of Vitamin C. Fruit to can ethos , never from concentrate, always low calorie.
