Vegan Calamari Recipe

The Nature’s Charm Vegan Calamari is in fact King Oyster Mushrooms that have been sliced into rings and marinated in with capers and seaweed. The marinade means that you can simply drain the brine and dry off the calamari and it is ready to use.

 

For the batter:

  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ cup chilled water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp baking powder

Method:

Blot the calamari before dipping in the batter.

Dip, shake off excess batter and fry in oil heated to 170oC until golden.

Drain on kitchen towel and serve with chips, wedges of lemon and vegan mayo - we recommend Follow Your Heart Original Vegenaise!
